About PM Group

What is PM Group?

PM Group is a Surat based construction materials manufacturer with three companies under one roof: Patel Aggregates & Sand for crushed aggregates and manufactured sand, PM Pavers for paver blocks, cobbles and kerb stones, and PM RMC for ready mix concrete. Between them, the group supplies what goes under, into and on top of most structures, from the stone in the foundation to the concrete in the slab and the pavers on the approach road.

How long has PM Group been in business?

The group started in 1995 with Patel Aggregates. By 2001 it was running the first Metso crushing plant in Gujarat. PM Pavers followed as a forward integration into precast concrete blocks, crushing capacity was raised to 600 TPH in 2021 along with a kerb stone capacity of over 2,000 pieces a day, and PM RMC was launched in 2024. That is close to three decades of supplying developers, contractors and infrastructure companies.

Why buy aggregates, RMC and pavers from one group instead of three separate suppliers?

Because the three materials depend on each other. The aggregate and sand used in PM RMC concrete and PM Pavers blocks come from Patel Aggregates' own crushing and sand lines, so grading and particle shape stay consistent from one order to the next instead of changing whenever a supplier changes quarry. You also deal with one team for scheduling, one point of accountability for quality and one relationship across the life of the project.

Who are your typical customers?

Real estate developers, civil and infrastructure contractors, architects and landscape designers, township and industrial park developers, precast units and RMC plants. Patel Aggregates has supplied large companies including L&T, Dodsal, ACC, IRB and Lodha. PM Pavers has supplied industrial pavers to Surat projects including Green Fusion, Globcon Splendora, Sai Parishar and Dream City.

Where are your offices and plants?

Head office: 810 Rajhans Montessa, Dumas Road, beside Le Meridien Hotel, near the Airport, Surat 395007. Patel Aggregates and PM Pavers plant: Block 1824, Chikhli Vansda Road, Alipor, District Navsari. PM RMC plant: Block No. 365, Abhva, Taluka Majura, District Surat.

Which areas do you supply to?

South Gujarat is the core market, with Surat at the centre, and the group also supplies projects in Maharashtra. Aggregates and pavers travel well, so the practical limit is freight cost. Ready mix concrete is different: it has to be discharged within a fixed time from loading, so RMC supply depends on the distance and traffic between the Majura plant and your site. Share your site location and the team will confirm what can be served.

PM Pavers

What types of pavers do you manufacture?

Interlocking pavers in zigzag, I shape and trihex patterns, square and rectangular pavers, cobble stone pavers, flagstone pavers, industrial pavers for heavy traffic, and kerb stones. The premium range includes Rustico pavers (406 × 216 × 70 mm) and Navastone pavers (450 × 375 mm, in 60 mm and 80 mm thickness), with shot blasted and coloured finishes.

Which paver thickness do I need?

Thickness is chosen for the load, not the look. As a working guide: 60 mm for footpaths, gardens, society roads and residential driveways; 80 mm for commercial parking, township internal roads and areas with regular light commercial vehicles; 100 mm and above for industrial yards, logistics parks and anywhere trucks, forklifts or containers move. Tell us what will run on the surface and we will recommend the thickness and shape.

Which paver shape works best for vehicle traffic?

Shapes that lock on all sides, such as zigzag and I shape, spread wheel loads into the neighbouring blocks and resist creeping and rutting when vehicles brake and turn. Square and rectangular pavers and cobbles suit pedestrian areas, landscape patterns and light traffic, where the laying pattern is part of the design. For heavy duty areas the laying pattern matters too: herringbone gives the best resistance to movement.

What surface finishes are available?

Standard grey, coloured pavers such as red and yellow, a shot blasted stone texture, and reflective pavers with a smooth, glossy face. Shot blasting creates a surface of pockets and ridges that looks like natural stone and gives better grip, so it is a common choice for driveways and pathways. Reflective pavers are used in walkways, courtyards and landscaped areas where the finish matters as much as the strength.

What is your paver production capacity?

PM Pavers runs a vacuum wet press line with a capacity of 2,000 square metres a day and a reflective press line with a capacity of 470 square metres a day, along with kerb stone production of over 2,000 pieces a day. That capacity lets large township, parking and industrial orders be supplied in phases that match your laying schedule, without switching between batches from different sources.

How many pavers do I need per square metre?

It depends on the shape. A 100 × 100 mm cobble works out to 100 pieces per square metre. One set of Rustico pavers covers 0.94 sq ft and one set of Navastone pavers covers 1.82 sq ft. For interlocking shapes, share the area and pattern and we will send the piece count. Always order 3 to 5 percent extra for cutting at edges, corners and around manholes, and keep a few spare blocks for future repairs.

Why do kerb stones matter in a paver project?

A paver surface stays in place because each block is held by the blocks around it. At the edges nothing holds them, so without a kerb stone or edge restraint the outer rows slowly spread, the joints open and the surface starts to sink. Kerb stones also define the road edge and guide rainwater to the drain. Since PM Pavers produces over 2,000 kerb stones a day, kerbs and pavers can be supplied together on the same schedule.

Why does paver size consistency matter?

Because it shows in the joints. A few millimetres of variation between blocks means uneven joint lines, more cutting on site, slower laying and a finished floor that looks patchy. It also causes trouble when a second order does not match the first. PM Pavers production is built around a fixed mix, measured water and the same press cycle for every stroke, so dimensions and density stay the same from batch to batch.

Are pavers better than RCC or tiles for outdoor areas?

For most outdoor paving, yes. Pavers can take traffic as soon as they are laid and compacted, with no curing period. A damaged block can be lifted and replaced, and a section can be opened for pipe or cable work and relaid with the same blocks. The joints let some rainwater through, and there are no large slabs to crack from heat expansion or settlement. RCC still suits areas that need a single continuous slab, such as some podiums and heavy duty floors inside buildings.

How should pavers be laid so they last?

Most paver failures start in the base, not the block. Compact the subgrade, then lay and compact a granular sub base whose thickness suits the soil and the traffic. Spread a uniform layer of coarse bedding sand, typically 20 to 40 mm, and screed it level without compacting it. Lay the pavers, compact them with a plate compactor, fill the joints with fine sand and compact again. Restrain every edge with kerb stones and give the surface a slope towards the drain. Patel Aggregates supplies 30 to 40 mm and 40 mm plus aggregate for the sub base.

Can I see projects where your pavers are used?

Yes. Industrial pavers from PM Pavers are laid at Surat projects including Green Fusion, Globcon Splendora, Sai Parishar and Dream City, and the Projects page shows the product used at each site. If you are evaluating a paver for a similar application, ask the PM Pavers team for completed projects near your location so you can see how the surface has performed under traffic.

PM RMC (Ready Mix Concrete)

What is ready mix concrete and why use it instead of site mixing?

Ready mix concrete is batched at a plant to an approved mix design and delivered in transit mixers, ready to place. Site mixing depends on head pans, volume measurement and water added by eye, so the real strength is rarely what the drawing specifies and there is no record of what went into the slab. RMC gives you weighed proportions, the same workability from load to load, faster pours with a pump, less labour and material stock on site, and paperwork for every load.

What makes PM RMC different from other RMC suppliers?

Three things. First, the plant uses Italian SIMEM batching technology and runs on German DORNER software, and PM RMC was the first RMC plant in Gujarat to use DORNER. Second, the aggregate and sand come from Patel Aggregates' own crushing and sand washing lines, so the raw material does not change between orders. Third, PM RMC is certified to ISO 9001:2015 for quality, ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management and ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety.

What does DORNER batching software mean for my project?

Every batch is controlled and logged by the software: the actual weight of cement, aggregate, sand, water and admixture that went into the drum, and the time it was batched. Production is tracked in real time. For you, that means the concrete delivered can be matched against the mix design you approved, and if a question comes up about a pour, there is a batch record to check instead of an argument on site.

Which concrete grades can you supply?

PM RMC supplies concrete to the grade specified on your structural drawing, produced as a design mix rather than a thumb rule. Send the grade, exposure condition, maximum aggregate size, slump required at site and placement method (pump or chute), and the team will share the mix design for your consultant's approval before the first pour. Requirements such as retarded concrete for long pours or hot weather are settled at the same stage.

How is concrete quality checked before and after delivery?

Each load should be checked at three points: slump at the plant before dispatch, slump again at discharge in front of your site engineer, and cube samples cast from the load. Under IS 4926 the minimum sampling rate is one sample for every 50 cubic metres or 50 batches, with three cubes per sample. Cubes are cured and tested at 7 days as an early indicator and at 28 days, which is the acceptance result under IS 456. Mark each cube with the delivery ticket number so results can be traced to the pour.

How long can concrete stay in the transit mixer?

IS 4926 requires ready mix concrete to be discharged within two hours of loading, extended only where a retarding admixture is used or site conditions allow. That window has to cover the drive, the wait at your gate and the pump setup. Keep the pump positioned and site access clear before the first mixer arrives, and check the loading time printed on the delivery ticket when each truck reaches site.

Can water be added at site if the concrete looks stiff?

No, not without written instruction from the supplier. Extra water raises the water cement ratio and cuts the strength of the concrete, and it leaves no trace on paper, so a cube that fails four weeks later cannot be explained. If workability is a concern for your placing method, raise it at the mix design stage so the slump and admixture are set correctly at the plant.

How do I calculate how much concrete to order?

Multiply length × width × thickness in metres for each element to get cubic metres. A 10 m × 8 m slab at 150 mm thickness needs 10 × 8 × 0.15 = 12 cubic metres. Add a small allowance, typically 2 to 5 percent, for uneven formwork, spillage and pump line losses. Share the drawing with the PM RMC team and they will help confirm the quantity and plan the number of loads.

What information should I share to book a pour?

The site address and access route, grade and quantity, pour date and start time, the element being cast (footing, column, slab or roof), placement method and pump position, required slump, and the name and number of the site engineer receiving the trucks. The earlier the schedule is shared, the better dispatch can be planned around your pour window, so loads arrive without the gaps that cause cold joints.

What should I check before signing the RMC delivery ticket?

Five things. The grade and quantity on the ticket match your order and the drawing for that pour. The loading time is printed, and you know how much of the two hour window is left. Slump is taken at discharge in front of your engineer. Cubes are cast from that load and marked with the ticket number. Nothing has been added to the drum at site without written instruction, water included. The ticket is your evidence, so read it before you sign it.

Patel Aggregates & Sand

Which aggregate sizes do you supply?

Coarse aggregates: 6 mm for precast products and bitumen road work; 10 mm for ready mix concrete, precast products and road construction; 20 mm and 25 mm for ready mix concrete, large precast products and RCC roads; 30 to 40 mm for the base of roads and railways; and 40 mm plus for retaining walls and soling. Fine aggregates are supplied in 0 to 4.75 mm, 0.075 to 4.75 mm and 0.075 to 2.36 mm gradings for concrete, precast products and road work.

What is three stage crushing and why does it matter?

The rock passes through three crushers, each with a different job. The jaw crusher does primary crushing, reducing quarry boulders to a controlled feed size. The cone crusher does secondary crushing, where the size is set and held batch after batch. The vertical shaft impactor (VSI) does tertiary crushing, where rock on rock impact breaks flaky and elongated pieces into a cubical shape. Patel Aggregates runs this line at a capacity of 600 tons per hour.

Why is cubical aggregate better than flaky aggregate?

Flaky and elongated particles pack badly and leave more voids. More voids need more cement paste to fill them, which raises cost and makes the mix harsh, harder to pump and more likely to segregate, and cube results start to drift below the design grade. Cubical aggregate packs tightly, needs less paste, gives better workability and lets the mix design deliver the strength it was designed for. The same applies to pavers, precast products and road layers.

What is manufactured sand (M Sand) and why use it instead of river sand?

M Sand is sand made by crushing and washing rock, so its grading, shape and cleanliness are controlled instead of depending on a river bed. Supply does not stop during monsoon or mining restrictions. Patel Aggregates has sand manufacturing capacity of 230 tons per hour and runs a CDE Asia Combo X150 washing plant that produces Zone II concrete sand, removes silt and recycles up to 95 percent of its process water.

Can you supply large volumes for infrastructure projects?

Yes. The crushing line runs at 600 tons per hour and the sand line at 230 tons per hour, which is why Patel Aggregates has been a regular supplier to large infrastructure and EPC companies such as L&T and Dodsal. For a project with a long supply period, share the monthly requirement by size and the team will plan production and dispatch against it.

Can I get test reports for your aggregates and sand?

Yes. Ask for current test reports for the sizes you need: sieve analysis for grading, flakiness and elongation index for shape, and silt content for sand. These are the tests consultants and RMC plants use for source approval under IS 383, and having them before the first order saves a round of back and forth with your consultant.

Ordering, Pricing and Site Support

How do I get a price quote?

Call or WhatsApp the division you need, or email sales@pmgroup.co. For pavers, share the area, application, preferred shape, thickness and finish. For RMC, share the grade, quantity, pour date and site location. For aggregates and sand, share the sizes, monthly quantity and delivery location. A complete enquiry gets a complete quote, so the more of this you send, the fewer calls it takes.

Can I order from more than one PM Group company in a single enquiry?

Yes. Many projects need aggregates for the sub base, pavers and kerb stones for the external areas, and RMC for the structure. Send the full requirement to sales@pmgroup.co or call +91 81411 00177, and the group will coordinate supply across all three companies so deliveries follow your construction sequence.

Can I visit the plant before approving PM Group as a supplier?

Yes. Consultants and purchase teams often need to see the source before approving a supplier, and a plant visit is the quickest way to check the crushing line, the paver presses or the RMC batching and control room for yourself. Contact the sales team to arrange a visit to the Chikhli plant or the PM RMC plant at Abhva.

Why do concrete and paver prices differ so much between suppliers?

Because quotes rarely compare the same thing. For RMC, price depends on the grade, cement content, admixtures, pumping, distance and whether the concrete is a true design mix. For pavers, it depends on thickness, strength, finish, dimensional accuracy and breakage in transit. A lower rate can cost more once rework, relaying or a failed cube is counted, so compare the delivered cost of a finished slab or paved area, not the rate per unit.

Quality and Certifications

What certifications does PM Group hold?

PM RMC is certified to ISO 9001:2015 (quality management), ISO 14001:2015 (environmental management) and ISO 45001:2018 (occupational health and safety). PM Pavers is an MSME registered manufacturer. Copies of the certificates are available on request for vendor registration and project documentation.

Which Indian Standards apply to your products?

Concrete paver blocks are covered by IS 15658, ready mix concrete by IS 4926, coarse and fine aggregates for concrete by IS 383, and acceptance of concrete strength by IS 456. When you specify or approve a supplier, ask for test results against the relevant standard for the exact product and grade you are buying, not a general brochure claim.

No matching question. Call +91 81411 00177 or email sales@pmgroup.co and the team will answer it directly.
